# Use Futures Profit Exit

> See how Profit Exit changes reducing Futures quotes, which costs it includes, when the rule applies and why a position may take longer to close.

Profit Exit changes the pricing of reducing Futures quotes. It is off by default and applies after **Save & Restart**.

> [tab] Off
>
> Quotes follow the reference, shifts and inventory skew. A reducing fill may realize a loss.

> [tab] On
>
> Above 30% exposure, reducing quotes respect the entry price, estimated fees and the configured buffer. Those quotes may sit farther from the current market.

## What the price includes

Profit Exit accounts for the entry price and estimated fees. **Funding is excluded.** Emergency reduction takes priority over this pricing rule.

That means a price meeting the rule is not a guarantee that the account's full result will be positive. Funding, other fills and execution costs can still affect the result.

## Why the position can stay open

If the market does not reach the reducing quote, it will not fill. Profit Exit can therefore delay inventory reduction compared with quoting nearer the market.

Use [Monitoring](https://docs.ansio.trade/monitoring/balances-pnl.md) to compare the net result with time away from the target position and peak exposure. If the position keeps switching between long and short while fees rise, review skew rather than treating each closed fill as the whole result.

## Apply and review

**1. Open the Futures settings**

Find **Profit Exit** on the selected account. This is separate from Spot **PnL mode**.

**2. Set the desired behavior**

Read the buffer and current exposure together. The setting affects reducing quotes once the exposure condition applies.

**3. Save and restart**

After applying, read the reducing side of the order book and the current position.

To request an immediate market close, use [Close position](https://docs.ansio.trade/futures/flatten.md). That action has a separate confirmation and can execute at a different price from the mark.
