# Manage Spot inventory and risk limits

> Control ladder sizing, repricing and balance-change limits in the Spot MM bot. Understand Floating, Inventorying, Descending, Shuffled and Blocked.

Spot inventory controls change how the MM bot uses the balances allocated to it. Risk limits can pause quoting when a balance changes beyond the threshold you set.

## Ladder behavior

| Control | What it does |
| - | - |
| Floating | Reprices the ladder with the reference on restart. When off, prices remain frozen until you enable it and restart. |
| Descending | Places larger sizes nearer the spread. With it off, levels on each side use equal sizes. |
| Shuffled | Rearranges sizes away from the closest levels while leaving the best levels in place. |
| Inventorying | Reserves half of the selected side's allocation and builds the ladder gradually. |

These controls work with the [level count and balance allocation](https://docs.ansio.trade/spot/market-making.md). They do not create additional capital.

A balance guard records the affected amount. Read the account's full exit record before resuming.

## Balance-change limits

**Critical balance change** and **Critical token change** set the changes that trigger a pause in quoting. Review both sides of the account when a threshold is reached: a token balance may fall because the bot sold tokens and received quote currency.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Blocked** disables the critical-balance automatic exit. Its name does not mean that additional protection has been enabled.

Apply pending strategy changes with **Save & Restart**, then read the resulting status. If you manually stop a strategy, [Autopilot requires a new explicit approval](https://docs.ansio.trade/autopilot/modes.md) before it may resume it.

## PnL mode

Spot **PnL mode** starts account tracking from activation. Matched purchases and sales contribute to realized results. Remaining inventory is marked at the current mid price for unrealized results.

This switch takes effect without restarting the bot. It is separate from [Futures Profit Exit](https://docs.ansio.trade/futures/profit-exit.md), which changes reducing quotes.

For a result you can compare over time, use the same measurement window and account for fees, transfers and remaining inventory. See [Balances and PnL](https://docs.ansio.trade/monitoring/balances-pnl.md).
